The letter from America. Before Christmas 1939 a letter from America arrived, to Johannes Nordman from Brita Nordman. It was a notification of the death of her husband and his brother, Andreas.Thereafter the communication between the Nordmans in Sweden and the Nordmans in America ceased, not to be resumed until 1998. |

Moclips. Wash.Dec. 4. 1939Dear brother in law!Your letter arrived today, but Andrew is not here. He is taken from us. So unexpected – he fell down dead without any warning.Friday morning at eight o'clock – heart paralysis. He is to be buried tomorrow.I cannot write much but I want to tell you that your brother was he best, noblest man – so good – so unselfish – so kind.God bless him.Your sister in law Brita |
