The letter from America.

Before Christmas 1939 a letter from America arrived, to Johannes Nordman from Brita Nordman. It was a notification of the death of her husband and his brother, Andreas.

Thereafter the communication between the Nordmans in Sweden and the Nordmans in America ceased, not to be resumed until 1998.

Dear brother in law!

Your letter arrived today, but Andrew is not here. He is taken from us. So unexpected he fell down dead without any warning.

Friday morning at eight o'clock heart paralysis. He is to be buried tomorrow.

I cannot write much but I want to tell you that your brother was he best, noblest man so good so unselfish so kind.

God bless him.

Your sister in law Brita
